The Session: Sean O’Brien

Earlier this Summer, Wakeboarding Magazine came out to film Sean for a feature video for their website. It wasn’t exactly the greatest conditions, but we still managed to get some stuff. Enjoy!

Wakeskaters are taking over!

wakesurfing
Yes, the wakeskaters are taking over. For one week, November 8th-14th, we are “freeing” the camp of the tyranny of the fruitbooters. No longer will we be bound and confined!

Actually, the better half of Orlandowake realized the potential for a week of only wakeskating and asked Nick Taylor to be a part of it. It is going to be a great week of boat, pwc, rail, and pool gap riding. We will also be skating the mini-ramp, taking trips to Adrenalina, and surfing; All of the wonderful activities of freedom.

Space is VERY limited, so contact us soon for details.

Natalie Ann Seaman

NatalieNatalie Ann Seaman arrived at 2:11am on Mother’s Day, May 10th, 2009. She weighed 5 lbs., 6 oz. and was very eager because it only took 2 hours and 45 minutes for the entire birth, from Michelle’s water breaking to Derek holding Natalie. Natalie and Michelle were and are in perfect health. Natalie’s already been hanging out on the boat and she can’t wait to have her daddy teach her to wakeskate. Check out these pictures of our newest addition!!!

The Frozen Tundra of Orlandowake

Frozen tundra

So what do you do when you find out that overnight the temp is going to drop down to 28°F ( -2°C)? Throw all of your gear in a couple of trees, hook up a couple of hoses to some sprinkler heads, and create a magical wakeboard winter wonderland. At least that’s what we did. We woke up this morning to majestically icicle laden trees (and gear) as well as a frozen tundra of a backyard. Not to mention, the dock was covered with a sheet of ice that almost took us out on numerous occasions. So after being thoroughly impressed by our abilities to create the unimaginable for Florida, it was time to tear the boards out of the trees, suit up, and go ride. Derek was on the water when it was approx. 30°F ( -1°C) and rode like a champ. Sean on the other hand, was smart and waited a couple of hours until it got up to about 45°F ( 7°C) and then had a great set, aside from his fingers being on the verge of frost bite. Enjoy the shots! Hopefully this will never happen again. Click HERE to see the pics.

Our New Haircuts!!!

Fix-a-KidThis should have been posted sooner, but Derek and Sean were both a little insecure about what had become of our beautiful long locks. So without further ado, we hope you enjoy/empathize with the fantastic results from FixAKid.

After a great week of clinics and a successful tournament for the FixAKid foundation, Sean and Derek are back. Their auction ended up raising $3000 for FixAKid. Since the amount was over $2000, their new do’s were determined by the highest bidder, Capt. John Krystyniak. After giving the decision a good night’s sleep Friday night, John chose Derek to have the Cul-De-Sac and Sean to have a tri-hawk. He thought Derek would look good as Hulk Hogan and Sean needed a little punk rock in his life. The haircuts were given by a professional during the tournament on Saturday for everyone to see. Click HERE to see the pictures of the clinic, tournament, and haircuts. Make sure you go through all of them because the best pictures are on the last few pages.

We want to express our gratitude for everyone who donated to this auction. We never thought we’d reach our goal, much less get to $3000. All who donated are either kind and generous for donating to help the children or cruel and for paying to see us look ridiculous. Regardless, it was so great to be able to help such a great charity.

We want to thank the Koritko’s for creating such a great charity, working tirelessly to make it all happen, and inviting us to be a part of it. The blood, sweat, and tears they put into this event was nothing short of heroic. Thanks to the extended family, Dave Monte, Travis Keaney, Travis Propst, Brett and Brandon Lee, Josh Palma, Jimmy Trask, and Jeff Langley for all of their hard work.

FixAKid Foundation Charity Tournament and Haircuts!!!

FixAKidAt this time we are going to discontinue the weekly trivia and replace it with something way more fun for you and beneficial to others. That is as long as you aren’t Derek Seaman or Sean O’Brien. This is the perfect opportunity for you to take out all of your aggression on these unfortunate individuals and at the same time help those in need.

In July, Derek and Sean are going to spend a week in Connecticut running wakeboard clinics and helping with a charity event called FixAKid which will raise money for a children’s hospital. They decided that what they were doing just wasn’t enough and they wanted to give a little more. After a lot of pondering over what they have to offer people and ways to raise money, complete self-humiliation seemed like the only answer. Honestly, what could be better than donating to help save children’s lives and at the same time make these guys look like fools?

HairHere is how this is going to work. Derek and Sean have been growing their hair out for months and they have decided to put their hair up for auction. The total amount of money donated by you guys will determine the devastatingly funny hairstyle that these guys will have to endure. Each of the predetermined hairstyles will fall into a certain price range and as the amount of money raised increases so does the intensity of the hairstyles. So the total value of all contributions will determine the unfortunate outcome of Sean and Derek’s hair.

There are probably some nice people out there that don’t want anything bad to happen to Sean or Derek and I’m sure they appreciate your concern, but seriously what have they ever done for you? So let’s give these guys what they deserve and save some kids at the same time.

The hairstyle and their values are as follows:
>$250 Buzz cut with #2 guard
>$500 Mohawk
>$750 Rat tail w/ Buzz cut
>$1000 Mullet (aka 10/90 or STLB)
>$1250 BICed (shaved with razor)
>$1500 Cul-De-Sac (top of head shaved as if balding)
>$1750 The Old Man (Cul-De-Sac with hair short on sides and some long hair left for comb over)
>$2000 If we reach our goal of $2000, the person with the single greatest donation will get to choose
how Sean and Derek will be cutting their hair.

Donations will be accepted until July 18th and at this time the hairstyle will be determined. The haircuts will be given on the morning of the 19th before the tournament by a “professional” so all may witness their new ‘do’s. To make sure that everyone feels like they are getting their money’s worth, pictures and a video will be posted on the Orlandowake website for your viewing pleasure.

The Donation Total so far is: $2741

Since we have reached the $2000 milestone, the haircut will be determined by our highest bidder. As of right now, that is Capt. John Krystyniak. Everyone has until midnight Friday to overtake John and control the outcome of our hair. We will post any changes that occur with the highest bidder status. Thank you all so much for being a part of this.
